Big Blind (BB)大盲Second seat left of the button; posts a forced bet, usually twice the small blind.
Under the Gun (UTG)槍口位 / 枪口位First seat left of the big blind; first to act pre-flop.

Under ante-only (Short Deck): the button posts 2×ante, the opponent 1×ante; the opponent acts first pre-flop, the button still acts last post-flop.
The two most common table sizes.

Ante-only Structure前注制No blinds: everyone antes and the button posts one extra. See the debate page.
Under ante-only, the button's total contribution (2 × ante). Used to size bets — the "x" in "open to 3x" is effBB. For felt depth, divide antes by 3 instead: 100 antes = 50 effBB, but plays like roughly 32 big blinds.
Chips already in the pot that can no longer act — antes and blinds included.

M-ratio / M-valueM 值Stack divided by the total forced contribution for one orbit (one round of the button). Coined by Dan Harrington: how many orbits you survive playing no hands at all. Ante-only burns M faster than blinds, which is exactly why 100 antes ≈ 32 big blinds.

A range whose actions rule out the strongest hands.
Share of hands where you voluntarily put money in before the flop. Forced money does not count: paying only the ante, or checking in the big blind when nobody raised, is not VPIP — calling, raising, or completing the small blind is. Typical: tight-aggressive 18–25%, normal 6-max 22–30%, loose-aggressive 28–38%. The gap to PFR reads style: under 3 is aggressive, over 10 is passive.
Share of hands where you raised preflop, re-raises included. A subset of VPIP: VPIP counts calls and raises, PFR counts raises only. The gap reads style — under 3 means you raise when you enter (aggressive); over 10 means you mostly limp or call in (passive).
Ratio of bets and raises to calls.
How spread out short-term results are. Higher in Short Deck than in standard Hold'em.
